AEPTM / DKPT / TIKA Cooperation: Basic Riot Control Training Completed

13/02/2026

A two-week public order and riot control training programme for 30 police officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies concluded today with a certificate award ceremony at the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM). The training was organised in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and the Directorate (DKPT).
AEPTM Director Marko Vujević thanked all partners for their contribution, particularly the Turkish police experts who led the programme. He emphasised that the training, focused on crowd control and policing during protests, enabled participants to acquire new knowledge and practical skills applicable in their daily work.
Deputy Director of the Directorate, Goran Amidžić, conveyed positive feedback from participants, who described the training as highly successful and professionally valuable. He highlighted that the programme combined theory and practical exercises conducted in simulated real-life scenarios. Amidžić also noted that Turkey has developed its own model for managing civil unrest, differing from the standard approach most commonly applied in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and underlined the importance of adequately equipping police units.
The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Mostar, Fatih Ekinci, stated that the project represents not only a training initiative but also a strong example of cooperation and institutional solidarity between the two countries. He expressed hope that the knowledge gained will be effectively applied in the field and that cooperation will continue in the future.
