25/02/2026

Today, 24 cadets of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina were promoted to the rank of Junior Inspector at the Agency for Education and Professional Training. Following the awarding of certificates, the cadets took a solemn oath before Deputy Minister of Security Ivica Bošnjak, pledging to uphold the Constitution and laws of BiH and to perform their duties conscientiously and responsibly.

This 21st generation completed six months of Level II Basic Police Training, covering 17 subjects across three phases: theoretical lessons with practical exercises, professional-operational training, and scenario-based instruction. The curriculum is fully aligned with FRONTEX’s Common Core Curriculum (CCC 2022). The cadets demonstrated exceptional dedication and achieved excellent results.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, family members, friends, lecturers, mentors, and instructors who guided the cadets throughout their training. Director of the Agency, Marko Vujević, highlighted the cadets’ journey from selection to promotion, emphasizing the importance of practical, lawful application of skills in their future duties. He noted that this training strengthens the capacities of the Border Police and contributes to national security.

Director of the Border Police, Mirko Kuprešaković, stressed the ongoing need for recruitment and professional development to meet EU standards. “Today we witness the moment in which you, respected cadets, undertake the serious and honourable obligation to protect the constitutional order, the law, the borders, and the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to serve all its citizens professionally, impartially, and responsibly. You are expected to be not only border guards but also ambassadors of the state—through your conduct, communication, and attitude towards the citizens you encounter in your daily work,” said the Director of the Border Police, noting that the institution he leads continuously invests in education and professional development as the only effective path in addressing the growing challenges in border surveillance and control, as well as in combating all forms of cross-border crime.

Deputy Minister Bošnjak highlighted the cadets’ critical role in addressing challenges such as illegal migration, cross-border crime, and terrorism. He underlined the Ministry’s commitment to supporting police agencies through modernisation and training.

Miloš Bojanić was named Cadet of the Generation, with Dženana Mujakić and Josip Badrov recognised as exemplary cadets. Bojanić thanked mentors, lecturers, and his family, pledging to serve professionally, responsibly, and honourably.
