Professional Training for AEPTM Lecturers, Mentors, and Instructors

28/03/2026

As part of the cooperation between the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM) and the Embassy of the United Kingdom, together with the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), a five-day training course was held for AEPTM lecturers, mentors, and instructors in the field of first aid.

This was an advanced medical training programme for armed police officers, prepared and implemented by Lazarus Training at the request of the British Embassy. The training followed the United Kingdom’s NPIA D13 (National Policing Improvement Agency) standards.

The NPIA D13 standard represents the level of competence police officers must achieve to provide emergency medical care in the field, act in situations involving severe injuries (e.g., gunshot wounds, massive bleeding), and intervene before the arrival of emergency services. This standard covers: massive bleeding control (tourniquet, compression), airway management, trauma care (especially firearm-related), operating in high-risk situations (armed incidents), and tactical medicine (Tactical Emergency Care).

At the conclusion of the programme participants were awarded certificates and the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Marko Vujević, took the opportunity to thank the British Embassy and the NCA for their cooperation, which is planned and implemented to improve the skills of police officers in our country.

It is worth noting that our agency’s cooperation with the NCA began last year with the organization of training in criminal intelligence operations for SIPA officers.
