Firearms Handling and Shooting Skills

17/04/2026

Over the past three weeks, certified instructors from the Agency for Education and Professional Training conducted specialised training for instructors in the field of firearms handling and shooting skills. The training was attended by 14 police officers and civil servants from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, and our agency, with the aim of enhancing their knowledge, skills, and competencies for planning, conducting, recording, and evaluating achieved results during live-fire exercises within their respective institutions.

In addition to the facilities of our agency, the practical part of the training was carried out at the shooting ranges of the ALFA Shooting Club in Široki Brijeg.

At the end of the training, certificates were awarded to successful participants by the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Marko Vujević, who emphasised the need for continuous professional development, both for active police officers in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s law enforcement agencies and for the instructors of our agency. He noted that this is the only proper way to enhance the competencies of police officers and their ability to respond to contemporary security challenges.

“The training curriculum and our team of instructors delivering it are highly relevant partners to all of you in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s police agencies in the process of professional development. I believe that during the training, both theoretically, and even more so practically, you have acquired sufficient knowledge and competencies to meet the challenges of this profession within your respective police agencies. You now have a clear task to transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to your colleagues, with the support and monitoring of our instructors if necessary,” said Vujević, and thanked everyone who contributed to the organisation and implementation of the training.
