Deputy Minister of Security Holds Executive Team Meeting with Heads of Security Agencies

Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivica Bošnjak, today convened an executive team meeting with the directors of the country’s police and security agencies operating under the Ministry of Security of BiH.

The meeting was attended by: Darko Ćulum, Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Enes Karić, Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, Žarko Laketa, Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of BiH, Mirko Kuprešaković, Director of the Border Police of BiH, Radiša Samardžija, Director of the Agency for Forensic Testing and Expertise, Marko Vujević, Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training; and Enver Hadžiahmetović, Director of the Agency for Police Support.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the current security situation and discussed agency priorities, with a particular focus on fulfilling obligations related to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration path. The agenda also addressed migration management and the country’s commitments in counter-terrorism and anti-money laundering, in line with MONEYVAL recommendations, to prevent Bosnia and Herzegovina from being placed on the so-called “gray list.”

Reviewing achievements from the past year, the meeting noted that despite challenges caused by staff shortages, the majority of planned objectives and tasks were successfully met, contributing significantly to maintaining security across the country.

Looking ahead, discussions also focused on priorities for the current year, emphasizing the need for enhanced support in recruiting additional personnel, acquiring necessary equipment, and adopting key legislative and regulatory measures to improve the efficiency and functioning of the agencies.
