16/04/2026

In the period 14–16 March, the Agency for Education and Professional Training hosted an expert online workshop entitled “NATO DEEP – Basic ILIAS Administration Course and Core Principles of Online Learning Implementation (Support to Online Curriculum Development)” for lecturers, mentors, and instructors of the Agency.

The three-day workshop was delivered in an online format for the Agency’s teaching staff, with the aim of enhancing digital competencies and strengthening capacities for the development and implementation of modern learning formats. The objective of the workshop was to familiarise the Agency staff with the basics of using the ILIAS Learning Management System (LMS), with particular emphasis on administrative functionalities, as well as with the key principles of organising and delivering online teaching.

During the workshop, participants acquired practical knowledge and skills, including:

  • preparation and creation of courses for learners within the ILIAS platform,
  • distinguishing and applying asynchronous and synchronous teaching models within a blended learning framework,
  • development of instructional modules in the ILIAS system, including the integration of tests into the learning process,
  • application of modern frameworks such as the SAMR model and the TPACK model to ensure optimal integration of technology into the teaching process.

The workshop was delivered by experienced NATO instructors, Tanja Geiss (NATO DEEP e-Coordinator Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Giorgi Kokhreidze, who, through an interactive approach and practical examples, enabled participants to effectively acquire knowledge.

The implementation of this workshop represents a significant step in the process of digital transformation of teaching processes within the Agency and contributes to improving the quality of professional training and capacity-building in line with contemporary educational trends.

AEPTM extends special thanks to Dr Lidra Zegali and Anadin Hebib from NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, as well as to the instructors Tanja Geiss and Giorgi Kokhreidze, for the professional delivery of the workshop, the knowledge shared, and their significant contribution to strengthening the professional and organisational competencies of the Agency’s teaching staff.
