IADLEST's certificate confirms the professionalism of AEPTM

A delegation of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, led by director Marko Vujević, participated at the annual conference of the International Association of Directors for Standards and Training in the Field of Law Enforcement – IADLEST from June 2 to 5 in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) at the invitation of the Office for Combating International Narcotics Trafficking and Law Enforcement - INL of the United States Department of State.

As part of the conference, director Vujević was presented with an IADLEST certificate, which confirms that the Agency works according to international standards in terms of training implementation, but also in terms of the overall functioning of police academies. To remind, the Agency for Education and Professional Training was certified by IADLEST for the first time in 2019.

The IADLEST accreditation programme was developed by experts in public safety training and standards. It includes the fulfillment of 53 standards that cover issues of statutory and regulatory compliance, mutual agreements and assistance policies, personnel issues, work procedures, facilities, record keeping, training planning, training implementation, participants, information technology, fiscal issues and equipment.

Director Vujević was accompanied by the head of Support Department, Dunja Galić and the head of Specialist Training Department, Ivan Pinjuh, who led the recertification process through which it was proven that the Agency for Education and Professional Training had raised its competencies to a higher level. 

The topics were addressed through four panels at this annual conference, among which were discussions on improving trainings related to the evidence-based behavior of police officers, the best design of online and classroom trainings, the use of artificial intelligence in police training (source or risk - global perspectives) and in the analyses of video material of active police officers. The agenda also included gender equality topics, as well as analyses of ethical decisions made under stress, and those about conflict in Ukraine from the perspective of mental health.
