Handling Firearms and Shooting Skills with a Semi-Automatic Pistol

21/03/2025

A specialist training course Handling Firearms and Shooting Skills with a Semi-Automatic Pistol has been completed at the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM) today. This is a basic training programme in the given field, which was organized and conducted for 11 civil servants of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, which operates within the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The goal of the training is to acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the proper and safe handling of the semi-automatic pistol. Such training programmes are regularly organized by the Agency for Education and Professional Training for members of security agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose jobs require the carrying and use of firearms. This training course, which took place from March 17 to 21, was conducted by  AEPTM instructors and certified trainers.

"I believe that the knowledge you have gained here will be transferred to your colleagues in the field. You have had the opportunity to work with the best instructors. This is not only my opinion but also the opinion of the professionals from our partner academies with which we have been successfully cooperating for many years," said Marko Vujević, the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training at the certificate-award ceremony. This training is not the end of the professional development of civil servants with special authorization from the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs. Noting that our agency organizes a wide range of professional and specialist programmes, Vujević stated that police officers and civil servants should be aware of the importance of lifelong learning in their professional education, career development, and the improvement of their skills, which are essential for performing daily police tasks and duties.

While referring to the upcoming training courses for the staff of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Director Vujević stated that the cooperation with this partner organization would continue as per the expressed needs, which is a standard practice with all the agencies in the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
