Close Protection of VIPs (Basic training)

23/05/2025

The two-week basic training course titled Close Protection of VIPs was completed today at the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM). The training was conducted for 17 police officers from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, whose responsibilities include organizing and implementing physical and technical protection of persons and facilities of BiH institutions and diplomatic-consular missions that are specially protected in accordance with laws, international obligations, and other regulations issued by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

The final demonstration exercises were held this morning and were recorded by BHTV1 cameras. Following the exercises, a certificate awarding ceremony was held. These certificates will enable the trainees to pursue further specialization and career advancement in the service.

The director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Marko Vujević, addressed those present at the ceremony and emphasized the excellent cooperation and partnership the AEPTM has with the management of the Directorate. “We place all our knowledge, experience, and capacities at your disposal to help you raise your competencies to the highest level. We certified your instructors, who are now working with you, and it's up to you to approach your duties responsibly and continue developing your skills,” said Vujević, noting his understanding of the challenges faced by DKPT police officers and the feeling of what it means to protect someone.

“It is essential, in addition to the techniques you apply and everything you visualize, to be able to assess the situation—your success in this demanding job depends on that. Your work is unique. It requires courage, determination, and confidence in yourself and in the people who lead you. With continued practice and training, I have no doubt you will achieve excellent results. What matters is your willpower, respect for instructors and the entire hierarchy, and adherence to the rules within your service,” concluded Vujević. He gave special thanks to the Directorate's instructors Muamer Klino, Davor Anđelić, and Alen Mujkanović, who participated in conducting the training according to the curriculum for this field.

The professional trainings organized by the Agency for Education and Professional Training are conducted in accordance with the expressed needs of police agencies—namely SIPA, the Border Police of BiH, and in this case DKPT—and are aimed at improving the efficiency of institutions in BiH involved in combating all forms of organized crime, corruption, and terrorism.
