In cooperation with the Transfusion Centre of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, a blood donation campaign was held today at the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM). Around eighty cadets from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies, as well as employees of our Agency, took part in the event.

This campaign is a continuation of the long-standing cooperation between the two institutions, and today’s activity was led by doctors Zorica Merdžan and Ana Marija Ćorić. A total of 62 units of blood were collected. The event was attended by the Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, Mr. Marko Vujević, and the Head of the Transfusion Centre, Dr. Jadranka Knežević, who reiterated that donating blood is the most noble act a person can perform, as it helps save lives and ensures uninterrupted treatment of patients during surgeries or therapies involving blood products.

Expressing gratitude to our Agency for its cooperation, representatives of the Transfusion Centre of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar emphasised that the current blood supply levels are not satisfactory and that, without such donation campaigns, it would be very difficult for transfusion services to meet the hospital’s needs for blood and blood products.
