In the presence of high-ranking political officials of BiH, as well as family and friends, 14 cadets of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) were today promoted to the rank of junior inspector at the Agency for Education and Professional Training (AEPTM).
“With this ceremony, we recognise and support the 19th generation of cadets who, after taking their formal oath, will assume great responsibility in carrying out complex and demanding tasks within SIPA’s organisational units. They have chosen an honourable and demanding profession, and during their time at our agency they had the opportunity to train in excellent conditions. Now it is up to them, through practical work and independent decision-making, to demonstrate what they have learned. The challenges ahead will be difficult, but I am confident they are ready to meet them,” said Marko Vujević, Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, adding that education must continue, as today’s security challenges are becoming ever more complex and require constant professional development.
On behalf of the management of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, cadets were welcomed by Deputy Director Jasmin Gogić, who at the beginning of his speech thanked the AEPTM for its cooperation and partnership. “By assuming the role of a police officer, you will face various challenges throughout your career, where you will have the opportunity to work diligently alongside senior colleagues and gain experience in police work. I hope that through your dedicated work, you set an example for future generations, strengthen the foundations of our agency, and contribute to the safety of all citizens. May professionalism, dignity, and integrity guide you through police work in these challenging and difficult times,” said the SIPA Deputy Director.
On behalf of the Ministry of Security of BiH, cadets were congratulated by Advisor to the Deputy Minister, Vedran Knezović. “It is my pleasure to be here today at the conclusion of your training, to congratulate you on behalf of Deputy Minister Ivica Bošnjak and on my own behalf. I wish you every success in performing your duties at SIPA. By achieving the rank of junior inspector, you are entering an honorable service. Let professionalism, integrity, and respect for human dignity guide you in your work,” said Knezović.
The basic training program for SIPA cadets – level II lasts seven months (879 teaching hours). It is divided into three phases: theoretical classes with practical exercises, job-specific operational training, and situational training. The curriculum covers 17 subjects: Police powers and ethics, Weapons handling and marksmanship, Criminal tactics, techniques and methodology, Traffic safety, Special physical training, Physical education and first aid, Police psychology, Constitution, Criminal, misdemeanor and criminal procedure law, Human rights, IT and communications, English language, and Police management.
The overall performance of this generation is excellent. According to the decision of the Agency’s Teaching Council, Slobodan Kršić was named the best Cadet of the Generation. In his address, he emphasized that this moment belongs to all his colleagues with whom he shared the classroom, dreams, and challenges during the training period. “Allow me to thank the lecturers, instructors, and mentors who guided us with knowledge, experience, and example. I especially thank the SIPA lecturers who, despite their professional obligations, managed to devote time to share practical experiences with us, which meant a lot,” said Kršić.
