21/11/2025
In cooperation with the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies, the Agency for Education and Professional Training has successfully concluded a two-week basic training programme titled Close Protection of VIP Persons. The course was attended by 18 police officers of the Directorate whose duties include, among other tasks, organising and implementing physical and technical protection for individuals and facilities of state institutions, as well as diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These protections are carried out in accordance with relevant laws, international obligations, and regulations adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.
Throughout the training, participants engaged with modules covering the fundamental principles of VIP protection, planning and organising security measures, conducting risk assessments, and responding to situations involving heightened security threats. A strong emphasis was placed on practical learning, enabling trainees to practise techniques and procedures applicable in real operational environments.
The programme concluded with a comprehensive tactical demonstration exercise, during which participants showcased their operational skills and readiness to act in complex scenarios. This final exercise also served as the key assessment of their overall competence.
The training was delivered by an instructor team from the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies, composed of officers with extensive experience in VIP protection and supported by experts from the Agency for Education and Professional Training.
