INTERPA Conference

A  delegation of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, led by Branko Vukoja, Director and Elvir Velić, Assistant Director for Training, took part in the 6th conference of the International Association of Police Academise (INTERPA), which was held in Girne (Kyrenia), the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus on 28-30 March, 2017. The topic of this year's conference was 'Drug issue and new approaches in combatting drugs'.

The conference consisted of five sessions with following sub-topics: The role and importance of police training in combatting drugs abuse, The role of civil society and social media in combatting drugs abuse, Trainings in fighting drugs abuse, Police training in prevention of risks and threats, Rehabilitation and reintegration of drug addicts, and International cooperation in training to fight drug abuse. The Agency's representatives took part in the last session, elaborating on  criminal-legal and criminalistics aspects of using informants and undercover investigators in the efforts to detect perpetrators and in the organized crime connected with drug abuse.

The Executive and General Board meetings were held as part of 6th Conference consisting of 67 institutions from 52 countries.

This year's conference had 70 participants  from 26 institutions, from 23 countries, including reprersentatives of the international organizations such as AEPC, ASEAN, etc.
