Abu Dhabi: 4th INTERPA Conference

The 4th conference of INTERPA (International Association of Police Academies), titled Training of Officers in the Field of Policing That Needs Expertise, was held on May 25-27, 2015 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The hosts of the conference were the United Arab Emirates and Police Academy in Abu Dhabi. The representatives of our country at the conference were Branko Vukoja, Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training and Elvir Velić, Head of the Agency's Training Department.
Along with representatives of Turkey, Sudan, and Ukraine, who took part in a discussion about the topic 'Fight against terrorism and organised crime', Elvir Velic held a lecture about the training of police officers fighting organised crime in BiH – the criminal law and criminal procedure aspects of organized crime. There were several round tables on following topics: 'Managing mass gatherings including sport events', 'Community policing', ' Managing crime / managing media and Cyber crime', 'New approaches and practices in police training' and 'General issues concerning police training'.
The fourth Conference of the International Association of Police Academies - INTERPA, which gathers representativces of the police training institutions from 54 countries all around the world, is gaining in importance year after year, particularly in the context of exchange of information and experience among the police training institutions.
