Workshop 'Appropriate Treatment of Detainees in Police Stations'

The Agency for Education and Professional Training, with the professional support of the General Directorate for Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, organized a workshop 'Appropriate Treatment of Detainees in Police Stations' on May 5-6, 2015.
The aim of the workshop was to define 'best practices' in the treatment of detained persons in police stations with an accent on the application of the Acquis communautaire governing the area of freedoms and fundamental rights of individuals, including the analysis of the existing mechanims for reviewing the complaints against police, and discussion on the possibilities for their reform, relying upon the existing models.
The workshop gathered 40 police officers and civil servants of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, MoI FBaH, MoI RS, Judicial Police of FBaH, Judicial Police of RS, Brčko District Police, cantonal ministries of internal affairs and Agency for Education and Professional Training.
