A Memorandum of cooperation among the Centre for education of judges and prosecutors of FBiH, Centre for education of judges and prosecutors of RS, Police Academy of the FBiH MoI, Police Education Directorate of RS and Agency for Education and Professional Training has been signed in Sarajevo today.

The Memorandum establishes the objective and modality of cooperation among the signatories with respect to using the resources of the institutions, exchange of resources and expertise for the purpose of providing as efficient as possible education of police officers and prosecutors in BiH.

The signatories are going to identify the problems in the cooperation between police and prosecutor's office, and consequently work out a training programme and provide necessary conditions for a more effective education of police officers and prosecutors. The signatories are expected to establish the mechanism of coordination within 30 days after signing the Memorandum.

The agreement-signing ceremony was organized by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the project of Strengthening prosecutorial capacities in the criminal justice system supported by Switzerland and Norway.

The signatories of the Memorandum have underlined today this is the first time that the instiutions responsible for education of state bodies dealing with detecting and prosecuting criminal offences get united, and that the signed document will have a significant impact on the alignment of practice guidelines  and improvement of the capacities of prosecutors and police officers to jointly conduct investigations including both simple and grave offences of organized crime, corruption and terrorism.
