Graduation and oath-taking ceremonies for 70 police officers of DCPB and BP BiH

The Agency for Education and Professional Training hosted today a graduation ceremony for 20 police cadets of the Border Police of BiH, who were promoted to junior inspectors, and 50 cadets of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, who were promoted to a rank of policeman.

The Border Police cadets took the 2nd level basic police training course from September 25, 2017 to January 19, 2018, met all the requirements according to the Curricula, passed successfully the final exam and fulfilled the conditions to be awarded a rank of junior inspector.

The cadets of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies attended the 1st level basic police training course, sucessfully passed the exams, mastered the practice part of the training and passed the final exam in the period from 10 July, 2017 to 2 February 2018, fulfilling thus the conditions required for a rank of 'policeman'.

The curricula are made up of 17 subjects studied through three educational stages: theory classes with practice, professional and operational training course, situational classes and final exam.

Branko Vukoja, Director of the Agency for Education and Professional Training, congratulated the cadets and handed them over the certificates. He said the cadets had demonstrated their serious attitude, persistence and hard work, with grade point average 4,3 for the cadets of Border Police BiH, and 3,9 for cadets of the Directorate. Vukoja highlighted the newly promoted police officers were expected to demonstrate responsibility at work, based on legal and professional performance, and their ongoing learning and training. 'The police cadets are expected to be efficient. The society invested considerable resources in the training and education of cadets, and trusted them to serve and protect citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We thus rightfully believe they will fulfill the expectations in performing this hard, responsible and honest duty“ – Director Vukoja stated.

Mirsad Vilić, Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, Zoran Galić, Director of the Border Police of BiH and Mijo Krešić, Deputy BiH Security Minister gave the addresses and congratulated the cadets.  

Ms. Danica Kovačević was proclaimed the best cadet of the class among Border Police cadets, while Ms. Katarina Bartula excelled among the Directorate's police cadets.

The newly promoted police officers took an oath in front of the Deputy Security Minister Mijo Krešić, which marked the beginning of their employment in the Border Police of BiH and Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies. 

At today's ceremony a Memorandum of Implementating Distance Learning (E-learning) was signed by the BiH Security Ministry, Agency for Education and Professional Training, Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, State Investigation and Protection Agency and Border Police of BiH. The establishment and introduction of distance learning and video conference systems are aimed at improving the competences  and integrity of police officers and overall operational capacities of the law enforcement agencies in our country. This system will improve the quality and continuity of police trainings through knowledge renewal and better adjustment to individual needs of police officers, promoting thus lifelong learning throughout their career.
